Nihon Ryoko – Terms & Conditions

1. Introduction

Welcome to Nihon Ryoko, your Japan travel blog offering expert tips, itineraries, and inspiration. While we primarily provide travel content, we also offer the ability to book tailor-made holidays to Japan directly through our platform.

All bookings made via Nihon Ryoko are handled under the BestAtTravel.co.uk ATOL license. By booking with us, you agree to both Nihon Ryoko’s terms and the BestAtTravel.co.uk Terms & Conditions. This ensures your travel arrangements are fully protected under UK law and ATOL regulations.

2. Booking Conditions

  • Booking Process: Bookings can be made via our contact form, email, or phone. All bookings are provisional until confirmed by Nihon Ryoko / BestAtTravel.co.uk.
  • Payments: Deposits are required to secure bookings; full payment is due as outlined in your confirmation.
  • Accuracy: Ensure all travel details (names, dates, passport info) are correct. Nihon Ryoko and BestAtTravel.co.uk are not liable for errors caused by incorrect information.
  • ATOL Protection: All flight and flight-inclusive packages are fully protected under BestAtTravel.co.uk’s ATOL license.
  • Partner & Supplier Terms: Some bookings involve other partners or suppliers (hotels, local operators, transport providers). All bookings are also subject to their individual terms and conditions, which you agree to abide by when making your reservation.

3. Cancellation Policy

  • By Customer:
    • More than 30 days before departure: Full deposit refund.
    • 15–30 days before departure: 50% refund.
    • Less than 15 days: No refund.
  • Force Majeure: Nihon Ryoko and BestAtTravel.co.uk are not liable for cancellations caused by unforeseen events, natural disasters, pandemics, political unrest, or circumstances beyond our control.
  • Supplier Cancellation: If a supplier cancels, we will offer alternative arrangements or a full refund.

4. Changes to Bookings

Any requested changes (dates, traveler numbers, itinerary) must be communicated in writing. Fees may apply depending on availability and supplier policies.

5. Travel Documentation

Travelers are responsible for having valid passports, visas, and travel insurance. We are not responsible for denied entry or visa issues.

6. Travel Insurance

We strongly recommend comprehensive travel insurance covering medical, cancellation, and personal liability.

7. Liability

Nihon Ryoko acts as an intermediary between travelers and third-party suppliers under the BestAtTravel.co.uk ATOL license. While we select reliable providers, we cannot accept responsibility for injury, loss, or delay caused by these third parties. Liability is limited to amounts paid to Nihon Ryoko / BestAtTravel.co.uk.

8. Health & Safety

Travelers must comply with local laws and safety regulations. We reserve the right to refuse participation in activities if rules are not followed.

9. Privacy

Personal data collected during booking is used solely for travel arrangements and communication. We do not share your information with third parties for marketing purposes without consent.

10. Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of the United Kingdom. Any disputes arising will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the UK courts.

11. Important Notes for Booking Forms

  • Include a checkbox: “I have read and agree to Nihon Ryoko and BestAtTravel.co.uk Terms & Conditions, including applicable partner/supplier terms.”
  • Highlight ATOL protection whenever flights or flight-inclusive packages are offered: All bookings are fully protected under BestAtTravel.co.uk’s ATOL license.
